A few nice home improvement web images I found:
Beating board and hammer.

Every web site on installing glass tile emphasized the need to use a beating board. A beating board is simply a piece of wood or something that you place on top of the tiles and "beat" with a hammer. This way the tiles will further stick to the thinset and also the flat board will encourage the tiles to be "level" throughout.
The hammer? I only have two hands and the right hand is holding the camera. 
Furnace replacement: Those were the days

The furnace apparently dates to 1969, the year after I graduated from high school. Ah, those quaint old-fashioned pilot lights. According to the Lennox Web site, the Duracurve heat exchanger was developed in 1964, so it was practically the Latest Thing.
